"After just a few minutes on Pinterest, it was crystal clear that the
site served as a gigantic sewer pipe for the worst sort of anti-science
propaganda and paranoia that the Internet can vomit up."
Pinterest: A Sewer Pipe of Anti-Science Propaganda
Human knowledge has progressed exponentially since the dawn of modern science. It is no longer reasonable to accept claims without sufficient objective evidence. The harm from religion, alternatives to medicine, conservatism, and all other false beliefs will be exposed on this blog by reporting the findings of science. This blog will also reinforce what should be the basics of education: History, Civics, Financial Literacy, Media Literacy, and Critical/Science Based Thinking.
I wonder if this problem is specific to Pinterest or whether the results would be similar on Facebook and elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteWhile I have never been on the website, from the article, it looks like it does contain much more anti-science than what I see on Facebook. In addition, ironically, Facebook is presently embroiled in a challenge to its supposedly "liberal" "Trending" bias.
