In recent decades, there has been the phenomenon of Catholic health corporations purchasing secular hospitals. This has caused the serious issue of opposing standards of care: secular hospitals provide care approved by medical organizations, whereas, Catholic hospitals provide care approved by Catholic authorities.
Therefore, the Catholic hospitals do not provide contraception, sterilization, in vitro fertilization, abortion — and the full spectrum of end-of-life care. Since they get funds from the government (Medicare and Medicaid), they should be required to provide all of the services that are provided by secular hospitals.
When Faith Dictates Health Care Instead Of Science
SCIENCE (from the Latin for 'knowledge') informs wisdom, reason and humanism. This is a 4-legged worldview within reality that maximizes well-being for individuals and society.
