Can The USA Learn From Its Mistakes Leading Up To The Vietnam War?

The John Batchelor Show's podcasts recently had a rebroadcast of a 40 minute interview with Fredrik Logevall, the author of a 2014 book entitled "Embers of War:  The Fall of an Empire and the Making of America's Vietnam."

The Podcast

This interview highlighted the fact that the story of the travesty of the Vietnam War actually began around the First World War, when a young Ho Chi Minh sought help from the USA in his effort to get rid of the French colonialists to no avail.  Eventually, Ho Chi Minh found help from the communists, and the USA used that relationship to create a propaganda machine that led to the only defeat of the USA in a war.

This book/podcast is must reading/listening to understand the mistakes made before and during this war that continue to be made presently.
