"Science is not a destination, it is a process. Scientists do not make a
discovery, declare victory, and go home. Each insight adds a pixel or
two to a very large and complex picture. Each one suggests new questions
and new avenues of exploration. But that ‘science doesn’t know
everything’ is not the same as science not knowing anything. Science
knows vastly more than any other system of physical knowledge has ever
devised. In particular, medical science learns more in any given month
than all of the various medical quackeries combined since the beginning
of recorded history.
