A Critical Look at George Zabrecky, a Chiropractor Who Purports to Treat Cancer
Human knowledge has progressed exponentially since the dawn of modern science. It is no longer reasonable to accept claims without sufficient objective evidence. The harm from religion, alternatives to medicine, conservatism, and all other false beliefs will be exposed on this blog by reporting the findings of science. This blog will also reinforce what should be the basics of education: History, Civics, Financial Literacy, Media Literacy, and Critical/Science Based Thinking.

A Response To Criticism Of Chiropractic
Stephen Novella does a good job of refuting a critic of an article exposing the pseudoscience of chiropractic:

Beware The Naturopaths
I put these quacks in the same category as homeopaths and chiropractors: they all have an acute sense of marketing and politics.

It’s Bad Down-Under, Is It Worse Up-Over?
"Chiropractic in America is no different than in Australia. There are
also plenty of practitioners here who see newborns and children of all
ages for a variety of medical conditions that have absolutely nothing to
do with the spine. Where is the outrage of doctors and medical
organizations here? The notoriously CAM-friendly American Academy of
Pediatrics remains silent as usual."

Another Reason Why Chiropractors Are Dangerous
"These case reports confirm chiropractor’s understanding of basic
medicine is every bit as lacking as you would expect from their
education and training, - - - "
For chiropractic, the most mundane of medical cases is considered worthy of publication.

The Chiropractic Propaganda Machine Keeps On Spinning
"I realize I’m adjusting a dead horse here, chiropractic marketing
tactics are manipulative and shameless. I honestly don’t understand how
they look patients in the face when using their memorized scripts or
sleep at night after a day of pestering medical doctors in their offices
or people at health fairs or shopping malls. Don’t fall for the hype."

Chiropractic And The Precautionary Principle
"The precautionary principle
(or precautionary approach) to risk management states that if an action
or policy has a suspected risk of causing harm to the public, or to the
environment, in the absence of scientific consensus (that the action or
policy is not harmful), the burden of proof that it is not harmful
falls on those taking an action that may or may not be a risk.
"Ignored by chiropractic since 1895."
If it is not effective and its safety is questionable, why do it?
Harriet Hall has a 35 minute video fully exposing this quackery.

Cervical Manipulation For Cervicogenic Headaches (CGH)
Given the large numbers of people seeing chiropractors for headaches and/or neck pain, it is important to evaluate cervical manipulation (high velocity; low amplitude) for effectiveness as well as safety (stroke risk particularly). This article looks at a recent study comparing cervical manipulation to mobilization and other standard treatments. While manipulation was found to be more effective, how convincing is the study?
This one study is not enough to justify adopting manipulation for CGH.

Alternatives To Chiropractic
As a retired orthopedic physical therapist with over 38 years of
experience, I believe I have something to offer in the discussion regarding chiropractic.
First of all, it is important to understand the rationale and methods used in the practice of chiropractic that is at odds with known science. These articles will serve as an introduction to such:
