With the tragic news of the Flint, Michigan water supply presenting risks of mercury poisoning, some people may be prompted to bring up the controversial subject of Mercury's use in dental fillings. This article presents current knowledge and recommendations on the subject.
To date, studies have shown no correlation between dental amalgam and birth defects or adverse health issues in patients with dental amalgam or in dental health care workers who are exposed to it on a daily basis.
Human knowledge has progressed exponentially since the dawn of modern science. It is no longer reasonable to accept claims without sufficient objective evidence. The harm from religion, alternatives to medicine, conservatism, and all other false beliefs will be exposed on this blog by reporting the findings of science.
