Two rebuttals to the repetition of the old canard that science is also based on faith:
"There’s a difference between searching for confirmation and searching
for truth; religion does the former, science the latter. If Emerson can
give us evidence—and not just from the Bible—that 'God became man', then
I might take his truth claims seriously. Absent that, we need accept
his verities no more than we accept those of Scientology, Mormonism, or,
for that matter, Beowulf."
Another misguided believer claims that science is based on faith
"To be willing to make this statement is to deliberately misunderstand
what the enterprise of science is, and how it fundamentally differs from
any theological conclusion one could ever reach."
No, science is not faith-based, no matter what the Wall Street Journal says.
Human knowledge has progressed exponentially since the dawn of modern science. It is no longer reasonable to accept claims without sufficient objective evidence. The harm from religion, alternatives to medicine, conservatism, and all other false beliefs will be exposed on this blog by reporting the findings of science. This blog will also reinforce what should be the basics of education: History, Civics, Financial Literacy, Media Literacy, and Critical/Science Based Thinking.
