Who Wrote The New Testament Gospels?
How trustworthy are the Gospels? If you listen to conservative Christians, they are sure that they were written by eyewitnesses who were named Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John. Do we really know this, or is it just a Christian legend? Bart D. Ehrman, a biblical scholar who is an atheist but accepts the claim that there was a historic Jesus, has written much on the person of Jesus. In one of his better-known books, Jesus, Interrupted: Revealing the Hidden Contradictions in the Bible, Ehrman presents evidence that debunks most of what is assumed about the authors of the four Gospels.
