I have noticed some confusion regarding the activities within science that can foster doubt in the minds of the public regarding its value. I am going to attempt to clarify these activities to promote a better understanding and appreciation of science and to counter pseudoscience in all of its forms.
Human knowledge has progressed exponentially since the dawn of modern science. It is no longer reasonable to accept claims without sufficient objective evidence. The harm from religion, alternatives to medicine, conservatism, and all other false beliefs will be exposed on this blog by reporting the findings of science. This blog will also reinforce what should be the basics of education: History, Civics, Financial Literacy, Media Literacy, and Critical/Science Based Thinking.

String Theory: Is It Science?
Besides using the term "theory" erroneously (presently, at best it is an untestable speculation), I consider it pre-science.

Clarifying The Term "Theory"
After the many years of writing about science, I remain baffled over the public's continued ignorance over the term "theory." Yes, many, if not most, people will use the term when "hypothesis", "speculation" or "idea" would be more indicative of reality. However, by doing so, the term is cheapened. All you have to do is reflect on what Creationists say about evolution, "It's only a theory."
"A scientific theory summarizes a hypothesis or group of hypotheses that have been supported with repeated testing. If enough evidence accumulates to support a hypothesis, it moves to the next step—known as a theory in the scientific method and becomes accepted as a valid explanation of a phenomenon."
