Are The Gospels Really Reliable?

"The gospels. Beautiful stories about the life, ministry, and resurrection of Jesus. They have permeated culture and religious thought for nearly 2000 years. Often from fundamentalists, I hear that these are first-hand accounts of what happened. Of course, they contain many contradictions, some of which can be reconciled and others which cannot. This video will be addressed to those people who think the gospels were written by eyewitnesses. I've often said in videos that nothing about these books shouts 'eyewitness testimony,' but none of the videos were really about that. So today, that is the question I will be exploring. Are the gospels eyewitness accounts? And how do we know?"

You Can't Claim As Evidence Unverified Statements

The New Testament was written from oral statements decades after they supposedly were made by unknown authors in a culture of miracles and superstition well before the advent of science.  There are NO secular historical writings supporting the claims about Jesus, or even the historicity of him. Oh, and, there is no need for a "Savior" from "Original Sin", since science has falsified an historical Adam and Eve.

Christians: Would You Accept This Story If It Wasn't About Jesus?

The New Testament is a collection of stories, many of which contradict each other, about a man names Jesus. It was written decades after the supposed events of his life and include many situations that have been directly falsified by science or violate known reality, especially the resurrection stories. In addition, there are no non-christian, contemporary writings in support of any of the stories. Now, if this situation was regarding any other collection of writings, would you accept them as telling a valid story? I wouldn’t.
